Tips For Lip Makeup

If your face is reddish or burnt by the sun, then invest in a shimmery gold. The gold shade will help in toning down the redness in the complexion and the sparkle in the lip gloss will make sure all attention is on the mouth instead of the burns.
Lips are highly sensitive to the sun, more so than the rest of the face, meaning that they can get chapped and sunburned very easily. It is therefore important to regularly apply lip balm with an SPF of at least 15. Choose the lip balm wisely though, since those with titanium dioxide can lead to lips looking chalky.
If lips do get sunburned, you can soothe and cover up the burn by applying lip balm that is infused with lavender oil. This will reduce pain and swelling.
In the summer it is common for lips to dry up because of wind, sun and even air-conditioning. It is therefore useful to apply a "mask" on lips to hydrate them. Simply apply and leave on a thick layer of a lip balm containing petrolatum for ten minutes before wiping it off and replacing it with your favorite lipstick or lip gloss.
If lips are chapped, then a glossy non-shimmer lipstick is ideal for when you want to go out. Choose a shade that it a bit darker than your natural lip color to make your lips stand out. Glittery and shimmery lipsticks and lip glosses should be avoided when lips are chapped since the glitter particles can make your lips look flakier.
